A mint condition firearm is one that has been recently manufactured, and it is in pristine condition. It has no dings, dents or scratches, and it is free of wear marks.

Model: 1873 Short Rifle

The Model 1873 Short Rifle was a lever-action rifle produced by Uberti Firearms. It was available in several different calibers, including .45 Colt, .44-40 Winchester and .38 Long Colt. The rifle was manufactured from 1874 to 1929, with production ceasing due to poor sales.

The Model 1873 was succeeded by the Models 1874 through 1876; however, these models were not as popular as their predecessor and are much less common today than their predecessors or successors (the Models 1892 through 1911).

Serial Number: 621

The serial number is on the frame and it is not a replica. The serial number is not a reproduction

The receiver is stamped with “UBERTI” and “ITALY”, as well as with the model designation: 1873 .45 COLT LEVER ACTION SHORT RIFLE, CALIBER .45 LONG RIFLE/.410 GAUGE

The barrel has a blued finish with case hardened frame, lever, hammer & buttplate. Magazine tube floorplate also has case hardened finish.

Caliber: .45 Colt/.410 Shot Shells

The .45 Colt cartridge is a powerful and versatile round, and the Uberti 1873 lever-action rifle is a perfect platform for it. This short rifle can be loaded with either .45 Colt ammunition or shot shells, giving you options in terms of range, terminal impact and effectiveness.

  • The .45 Colt/.410 Shot Shells combination gives you the ability to hunt small game at close range or dispatch larger animals with a solid hit to their vital organs. It’s also great for home defense because of its high velocity round that has stopping power comparable to other handgun calibers (9mm/.380 ACP).

Barrel Length: 20″

A 20-inch barrel is a short-barreled rifle (SBR). The 18-inch barrel is standard for this model, but if you want something with more kick and less recoil, the 20″ can deliver. While it’s not illegal to own an SBR in most states (with some exceptions), it’s important to check your local laws before purchasing one.

The 20″ UBERTI® Case Hardened 1873 .45 Colt Lever Action Short Rifle – 20″ has many uses: hunting personal protection target shooting self defense concealed carry home defense

Finish Color & Style: Case Hardened Frame and Barrel

The finish you choose will depend on your personal preference and the type of firearm you’re buying. For this Uberti 1873 .45 Colt lever-action short rifle, we recommend a case hardened frame and barrel. Case hardening is a process that involves mixing together a metal alloy and carbon, then heating it to a high temperature. The metal is then quenched in oil or water, which produces a hardened surface on the outside of your gun’s frame or barrel (or both).

Stock/Forearm Color & Style: Walnut Stock with Ebony Forearm Cap and Checkered Pistol Grip

The stock and forearm are made of American walnut, with an ebony forearm cap. The checkered pistol grip features a fluted pattern to enhance its durability and aesthetic appeal.

The buttstock features a Monte Carlo style cheek piece, and the pistol grip has an ebony inlay to add a touch of elegance. The pistol grip cap, forearm cap and buttplate are all made of brass.

This is a really nice firearm.

This is a really nice firearm. It’s in very good condition, with just a few minor blemishes on the stock and some wear to the bluing on the barrel. The bore is bright and clean, with no issues to report.

The 1873 .45 Colt Lever Action Short Rifle was introduced by Colt in 1873 as an improvement over its predecessor, which had been produced since 1866. It featured an improved trigger guard design and an improved loading gate latch that allowed for faster reloading times; these features were carried over into future models of lever-action rifles produced by UBERTI (and others).

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a great rifle, this one should definitely be on your short list. The 1873 Colt Short Rifle is a classic and will remain so for many years to come. You can find them online from various sellers with prices ranging from $1,100-$2,000 depending on condition and accessories included (holster).
